Chris Fourie and Derek Lipman have been partners, both in life and business, since 1985. Together, their passion, creativity, and discipline drive the success of The Guys, a company known for its technical prowess and personalized service. Chris’s exacting attention to detail, combined with Derek’s exceptional client communication, creates a perfect synergy that allows them to excel in every project they undertake.

Chris’s career in IT began with a fascination for technology, sparking in 1985 when he first programmed fun games using GW-Basic on an IBM desktop. His transition from auditing at Robert Bosch to IT development for the Edgars Group spanned over 15 years, covering everything from coding to PC support. In 1997, he ventured into web hosting and design, founding The Web Spinner 2000, which offered top-notch hosting services using international servers. This eventually evolved into what is now The Guys, where Chris’s technical expertise remains the backbone of the operation.

Derek, with his deep roots in retail management, left his career behind in 1997 to join Chris in their growing business. His ability to build strong client relationships and his natural leadership have been integral to the company’s growth. Under Chris’s guidance, Derek developed a talent for photography, matching Chris’s passion and honing his skills to become a key figure in their photography services.

As a team of experienced photographers, Chris and Derek collaborate seamlessly. Whether working in tandem or providing critical feedback on each other’s work, their combined efforts result in stunning, meticulously crafted images. This partnership allows them to deliver a unique service that blends technical mastery, creative vision, and a commitment to excellence - ensuring that every shot they take tells a vivid, captivating story.

Website & Graphic Design Expertise: Tiaan Fourie

In 2021, The Guys expanded their team with the addition of Tiaan Fourie, Chris's son. Tiaan, an experienced graphic designer with a background in design and printing, has proven to be a valuable asset and a seamless team player.

Tiaan's impressive career includes diverse design roles:

• Lowveld Media (2009-2011): Designed advertisements and assisted with newspaper and magazine layouts.
• Print a Point (Johannesburg): Managed all design projects and provided client support.
• Sign Studio (Bethlehem, 2014): Gained extensive knowledge in signage, branding, and sticker design. He collaborated closely with clients and gained invaluable experience in installation and vehicle branding.
